The Ancient Path

Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, "We will not walk in it." - Jeremiah 6:16

New here? Start with one of these:

Christ died FOR us, not INSTEAD of us

Christ came TO us, and died FOR us, but He did not die INSTEAD of us. He did not die on the cross so that we didn’t have to die; but rather so that we also (by partaking of His Spirit, grace, and power) COULD die...

Leaving Egypt

This is a great problem in the church today. We have so many who have not even begun to leave the land of Egypt (I mean leave the flesh, the first birth, the natural man), and yet they talk and sing of and celebrate the blessings...

Grace Should Reign

Grace is a gift of God’s power, a measure of His life, light, and Spirit, a seed of His heavenly kingdom, that is given to men in order to grow in them, to work in them, to leaven them and change them entirely, removing every form...

The Appearings of Christ

The Lord appears in a flash of inward light, which, for at least a moment, forces us to see something of His truth, and something of our lie; something of His life, and something our death; something of His purity, and something of our vileness; something...

Two Births in Man

Here is your condition. This is what you currently feel, and what everyone can feel if they are willing to turn to the Voice that reproves them. You feel something stirring and moving in you that is good, and pure, and living, and is excited to...

I mean, the various ways that our obedience does not keep pace with our knowledge.

Words and the Word

teaching

last month

As strange as it sounds, one of the greatest hindrances to truly knowing the Lord can be our familiarity with biblical words and spiritual concepts. There was a time when the Lord had to show me that, though I was very acquainted with scriptural words, I was a stranger to the spiritual realities that these words described or pointed to.

In my opinion, there is no other collection of Christian writings that more accurately communicates or more powerfully illustrates the soul-transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
